About Southern Hydrographic

As the name implies, Southern Hydrographic specialises in Hydrographic Surveying. Based in Auckland, we provide a hydrographic survey launch purpose built to support nautical charting and engineering surveys, from the coastal zone to inland waterways and lakes.

Southern Hydrographic was formed in 2008 by Dave Mundy, a Hydrographic Surveyor with over 20 years experience. His survey career was launched in the early 90’s as a Hydrographic sub-specialist officer in the Royal New Zealand Navy, culminating with Command of the ocean going, 68m survey ship HMNZS RESOLUTION. Dave left he RNZN in 2008, first working as a freelance surveyor and then as a hydrographic surveyor for iXSurvey Australia Pty Ltd.
